Hi bookworm friends! I’m Mackenzie. I grew up in southern California, and am still a California girl at heart. Right now I’m working as an esports data analyst and private tutor, and am living in Las Vegas. I am a former/recovering astrophysicist (academia is tough!!). It’s a safe assumption to make based on the fact that I book blog that my main hobby is reading, but other than that I really love rock climbing and gaming (mostly Nintedo Switch games and Teamfight Tactics).

My reading genres consist of primarily fantasy and science fiction, both adult and young adult. I read the occasional contemporary or romance scattered between all the SFF books (my one true love it seems).

Review Policy

I’m happy to hear from publishers/authors/agents/etc for review requests! I won’t be able to accept every request that comes my way since book blogging is not my full time job. Here are a few things to consider before requesting a review:

  • I review finished copies and ARCs, in both print and eBook format. For eBooks, .mobi and .epub formats are both fine.
  • Reviews will be my honest opinions of the book, whether positive or negative, and written in a respectful manner!
  • Reviews will be posted on this blog, my Goodreads account, and my Instagram account.
  • I will only be responding to requests that are interesting to me – mostly based on genre preference (listed below).

Genres I Read

I read mostly books written for young adult and adult audiences, but I am also very open to reading middle grade books! My genres of preference are:

  • Fantasy
  • Science Fiction
  • (any subgenres of the above two!)
  • Retellings
  • Steampunk
  • Historical Fiction
  • Romance
  • Contemporary

★★★★★ – I LOVED this book!! I thought it was amazing and I’ll recommend it to everyone I know.

★★★★ – I really enjoyed it! There were a few things that I thought could have been better, but overall it was very good.

★★★ – I liked it! It was an fun read but there wasn’t much that stood out or wowed me.

★★ – I didn’t particularly enjoy this book, but I didn’t full on hate it.

★ – I liked pretty much nothing about this book and probably wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. (Usually reserved for harmful and/or problematic books)
