During 2024 I worked on trying to write at least a sentence or two on Goodreads for each book that I finished. I definitely want to continue that into this year, and hopefully try to expand to slightly longer reviews again! In the meantime, what I have now is perfect for sharing for these Monday Minis! So for today’s Monday Mini I wanted share some thoughts on a few of my underrated reads from 2024.

Once again I have failed at doing regular Monday Minis posts haha. It seems I managed to do one in 2021, and one in 2022. So I guess this is my one for 2023!! Though I’m going to try to be better…BUT NO PROMISES. Seeing as how well it worked out last year when I said “maybe I can get myself to do this again.”

Beginning last month, I got a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, so for the past few weeks I’ve mostly been reading books from there! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to write some reviews for what I’ve read. Today I’m just going to talk about 5 of my reads. I’ll try to do another Monday Mini next week with a few more of my favs!

I’m not the biggest reader of romance but The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy had the perfect amount of it for me to be hooked. This book is for fans of the Sunshine/Grumpy enemies-to-lovers pairing, slow burn romance, and a relationship that grows through letters. The pen pal aspect of the story was probably what drew me in the most and the fact that it’s set in a world with marshals, undertakers, and lost souls possessing cadavers.

Soooo this was meant to be a regular blog post series but apparently the last one I did was in 2019. THREE YEARS AGO. Whoops. But maybe I can get myself to do this again haha. I do love doing mini reviews! And I personally love reading shorter reviews, so I hope some of you do as well. This post will be about my 4 most recent reads, which all happen to be romance reads! Well okay, technically one of them I’d categorize as fantasy, if I had to pick a single genre. But it fits well into the “romance fantasy” genre mix. And one of them is a romance tinged with fantasy. I just can’t get away from fantasy for too long okay?? But anyway, I loved all of these! So let’s get into it.

Every year, I always look forward to Frenzy Presents hosted by HCC Frenzy at the HarperCollins Toronto office. I don’t have a lot of bookish friends in my area so when you have a day dedicated to inviting a bunch of book bloggers, feeding them A+ snacks, and talking to them about upcoming releases? It’s like going to the bookstore with an infinite credit card. (Ok, I actually don’t know what that feels like but I can imagine)

I honestly don’t know where half the year has gone, but it’s that time of the year where Fall Releases are APPROACHING and I’m excited to tell you all about them.
