It’s 2020: AKA the year of the Tamora Pierce Readalong!
Alright everyone – raise your hand if you know that Tamora Pierce is my favorite author. Everyone got their hands up? Okay good. In my early years of bookstagram, and waayyyy before I started blogging, I didn’t know anyone else who was as big of a fan as I am (well minus my mom who introduced me to Tamora Pierce). But luckily I’ve now found my people in Sakina and Gretal! We want to spread our love of her books and hopefully induct new people into our fanclub 😂. So we’re hosting a readalong of her books! This post will have all the info about it, I really hope you join us!

Tamora Pierce who?
Okay if you know nothing about who I’m talking about, I have a blog post about her books here! I talk about why you should read her books, the different universes she writes in, and a little bit about each series she has written. Honestly this is one of my fav blog posts I’ve written haha.

When does this readalong take place?
We’ll be starting on January 20th! We want to have everyone be able to read at their own pace, so we set time frames for each individual series and people can read the series at their own pace within that time. Here is the full schedule:
It looks like a lot! And number wise it is a lot of books, but each one is pretty short (with the exception of Beka Cooper) and they read quickly. Hopefully this also gives people time to acquire the books if they don’t have them.
As you can see, we will be starting with the Song of the Lioness series. This is Tamora Pierce’s first series! This schedule also only shows the books from one of her universes – the Tortall universe. After we are done with this, we’ll move on to the Emelan universe but more info will come later since that will be way in the future haha. This schedule is also in publication order, which we feel is the best way to read her books!
Where will this readalong be taking place?
We will mostly be discussing via Instagram and Twitter! We’ll be using the hashtag #TPreadalong. You can find my social media accounts here (Instagram, Twitter), Sakina’s here (Instagram, Twitter), and Gretal’s here (Instagram, Twitter). We’ll be doing posts, discussions, and maybe Q&A’s!
I may try to post a wrap up blog post of each series as well!

I said it on Sakina’s post but I do like the way you’ve set up the readalong! Much less pressure this way, I think. I’ll see if I can refresh my memory of Alanna: The First Adventure before I dive into book two! 😏
