Colour Me Read Challenge
What is it?
The Colour Me Read Challenge is meant to encourage readers to read more books outside of their comfort zone. Most of us have specific genres we love and if you’re interested in branching out a bit to discover other books and authors, this challenge is designed to help you!
How does it work?
It’s easy! Each month I’ll be posting a Challenge card with TWO genres listed. If one of the choices doesn’t interest you, you can pick the other. You can also read books from BOTH genres if you feel up to it! If you’re already an avid reader of both genres, you can pick a book from an author whose work you haven’t tried.
Anyone can participate! If you’re on social media, you can use the hashtag #colourmereadchallenge to post about your reading experience. If you’re not sure what to write about, here are a few questions you can answer:
- Is this your first time reading a book in this genre?
- What did you like or not like about it?
- Will you read a book/author from this genre again?

Closing Thoughts
Readers who still want to continue with the challenge can ‘start over’ by using prompts from June 2016 to May 2018 and I’ll be sure to keep all the links updated for past challenges. You can do it in order or jump in between, it’s entirely up to you! The most important thing is to have fun and discover books which is all I hoped for from this challenge.
